Have You Ever Thought About
Running for Office?
Most people who eventually run say they waited for someone to ask them. Consider this the ask. School board. City council. County. State legislature. We're recruiting now for the 2027 and 2028 election cycles, and we'd like to talk to you.
Good candidates rarely volunteer. They're asked.
Research is overwhelming on this point: most people who would make excellent elected officials never run unless someone they trust personally suggests it. We're not waiting for that to happen by accident anymore.
This page is the start of the conversation. Submit the form below and you'll hear from the Chair or Vice Chair within five business days. The first conversation is confidential, it is not a commitment, and we don't put anything in writing or share anything externally until you decide you want to move forward.
If you say "no" or "not now," we'll thank you, ask who else you'd suggest, and check in again in two years. Nobody is pressured. Many people who say "not yet" the first time say "yes" the second.
Races we're recruiting for now.
2027 (local): School board (Adams 12 Five Star Schools and Boulder Valley), plus Broomfield City & County Council seats. Off-cycle races where a disciplined, organized candidate can win.
2028 (state): Colorado House Districts that touch Broomfield, and Colorado Senate where eligible.
Strong candidates are recruited 12 to 24 months out. The best time to start the conversation is long before the filing deadline.
Filing deadlines vary by race. Earlier is always better.
Where a first-time Republican candidate can actually win in Broomfield.
Not every race is winnable. We're not in the business of pretending. Below is our honest assessment of where the math works for a credible, organized, well-prepared Republican.
School Board (Adams 12, BVSD)
Off-cycle November races (odd years). Non-partisan on the ballot. Decided by 8,000-15,000 votes. A focused candidate with 2,000 motivated parents and a clear message about reading, math, and respect can win.
Time commitment: 12-18 months · Budget: $10K-$50K
Broomfield City & County Council
Broomfield is a consolidated city-and-county, so a single elected Council governs both. It decides the budget, growth and land use, taxes, and public safety. Non-partisan on the ballot, and where suburban voters actually engage. Wins here build real local credibility and a candidate's bench for higher office.
Time commitment: 9-12 months · Budget: $15K-$60K
Colorado State House
Mid-leverage. State-level policy, statewide visibility, the natural pipeline to State Senate. Even a credible 40% candidate forces the other side to spend in our district.
Time commitment: 12-18 months · Budget: $50K-$150K
You don't do this alone.
Here's what the Broomfield County Republicans commit to every candidate we recruit and endorse.
Confidential 1-on-1
The first conversation is between you and the Chair. No press, no committee, no notes. We listen first.
Honest vetting
A structured 7-point review covering background, social media, finances, family conversation, past statements, professional conflicts, and references. Done quietly. The full file stays sealed.
Training & a setup guide
Our Candidate Development School covers message, math, fundraising, press, and closing the campaign. Plus a step-by-step campaign setup guide that walks you through standing up an organized, compliant campaign from day one.
Campaign manager introductions
We've got relationships with Republican-friendly campaign managers across Colorado. We'll make the intros for serious candidates.
Help with your first dollars
Raising the first round is the hardest part of any campaign. We help you get there with coaching on your launch donor list, your first asks, and an early fundraising plan that gets your campaign credibly off the ground.
Field operation
Our precinct captain network and Young Republicans chapter walk doors and turn out votes for our endorsed candidates. You bring the message; we bring the ground game.
The four things people worry about, and our honest answer.
"My family can't take it."
Your spouse and kids are part of every conversation we have. We don't recruit candidates whose families aren't fully in. We've watched too many good candidates quit at month 4 when their spouse wasn't onboard from day 1.
"I have skeletons."
Everyone does. Honesty about a past mistake is survivable. Concealment is not. The vetting conversation is the moment to surface anything you're worried about, in confidence, before the opposition finds it.
"I can't fundraise."
Most first-time candidates think this and discover they're wrong. We train you. The Development School includes a session on call time, donor asks, and how to think about the money. You will not be sent into a fundraising meeting unprepared.
"What if I lose?"
Many people who run and lose run again, and win the second or third time. A loss is not the end. It builds name ID, a donor list, a team, and the experience to win next time. We do not pretend losing is fun, but we also know it's part of how durable candidates get built.
Talk to the Chair, confidentially.
